My job is to help your business grow so you can focus on your business operations.
Merchant Service Group involves business financial services and my first experience with that industry was while on active duty U.S. Navy. I became licensed and worked part time at an independent financial services agency in life insurance sales. Our agency services included the sale of mutual funds to supplement their insurance plans. The agency philosophy was to provide financial services for our clients whether they died too soon or lived too long, which is the reason we marketed life insurance and mutual funds. I worked in that agency from November 1983 until I transferred in December 1989.
While still in the U.S. Navy, I maintained my interest in working in the financial services industry because of that experience. I gained an appreciation for customer service and helping people by volunteering for two collateral positions, in addition to my duties as a division manager on the ship, to include “Command Financial Specialist (CFS)” and “Command Fitness Coordinator (CFC)”.
My responsibilities as CFS included receiving any “Letter of Indebtedness (LOI)” sent to the command naming a crew member for late payments to a creditor and to follow up with appropriate counseling to minimize reoccurrence andoffer advice to those crew members in techniques for better personal money management. My successes in pointing out better financial management strategies were highly regarded by the crew after I had been working with them. I remained the CFS from June 1989 until I transferred in March of 1994.
My next experience in financial services was after I retired from the Navy, with 24 years of service, in September of 1995. I was hired by Allstate Insurance Company in March of 1996 and marketed their insurance products until I decided to leave them in September 1997.
In 2008, I met an associate at work that told me about his “side business” working in debit/credit card processing. It sounded interesting so I pursued and received a local licensed dealership with the same company.
In early 2009, I decided to attend college fulltime to earn a degree in Business Management and completed that program in December 2010 from Olympic College in Bremerton, WA. with the intent of better understanding business management and operations.
My goal with this company is to contact as many merchants as I can to educate them in the various pricing structures available from different service providers with regard to debit/credit card processing that can make a significant difference in how much you pay for those services.
My association with Business Networking International (BNI) has taught me the value of making contact with the local business community and the advantages of maintaining those associations to help reduce the cost of doing business.
I am also a graduate of Washington Community Alliance for Self Help (Washington C.A.S.H.) “Business Development Training” course, and an active member of Washington C.A.S.H. Business Support Group.

Distinction in Merchant Services Expenses?
There are two essential things that you can consider as you are accepting cards through a merchant services account. The first is whether or not you should accept all cards including American Express, or if you should just stick to a merchant services account that only accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
To answer this question, if you are in a small ticket item industry whereby a standard sale is small but effective, you will probably find that the fee payments are in reality closer than they initially appear to be since American Express doesn’t charge you the additional 10+ pennies (known as a transaction fee, or authorization fee).
Furthermore, our Merchant Services Seattle framework only includes your processing fee payment. This means when you acknowledge Visa and Mastercard, the processing fee that you pay is the cost that we pay in order to pair you with a merchant services processor. A vital factor to keep in mind comparing American Express service fees to the others, is you could possibly be paying comparable rates just depending on your circumstances.
